Hold on to Hope

Though the dark may be upon me, may the darkness never own me
through trial or fire or gale or tempest come
With the wolves outside a'howling seeking something for devouring
Let my shoulders bear no burden that can not be overcome

Hold on to hope - maybe one day you can cash it all in
Maybe one day you'll find you're in the presence of friends
Maybe one day, maybe one day
Hold on - for the end will, some morning, begin

My faith has been trampled upon; it's been trodden upon
I've been walked over, thrown under and vomited on
My hope fragile and gone
As a white flag I begin to raise
I pray my strength will carry me until dawn
I run! I run!
Hope carry on as a beacon from the darkness to your shore I am drawn
where my horrors are withdrawn and I'm no longer a pawn
in this game of will vs will and faith vs faith
Look into my face; do you see the peace I've embraced?
I once was shrouded in darkness - now the darkness I chase
For my case I'd been pleading until my lips were bleeding
and on the day of defeating myself and my own doubts
I was finally set free again

Hold on to hope - maybe one day you can cash it all in
Maybe one day you'll find you're in the presence of friends
Maybe one day, maybe one day
Hold on - for the end will, some morning, begin

Hold on to hope!
Hold on to hope!

Hold on to hope!
Hold on to hope!
Hold on to hope!
