Lie to Me

(by Jordan Eastman and Caroline Brallier)

Standing in the middle of the road in the pouring rain
Swearing this time It's all over and nothing's ever going to stay the same
But everybody knows that fools like us don't change our torn ways

Momma always told me not to settle just for peace of mind
But I felt my mind in pieces on the day your lips touched mine
Now I'm watching this thing burn with a goodbye - why am I not crying?

Remember when you asked me if we'd ever break
and I swore someday I'd get you out of this old place?
But promises grow weaker with the fading space so tonight...

I want you to lie to me
Won't you just lie to me?
Lie to me for one more night

I once felt that only you could calm my fears
Now I fear I feel much stronger on the nights that you're not here
since I gave up wondering where you were going - I'm fine alone

Remember when you hung on my words and the dreams we chased
and I swore someday I'd get you out of this old place?
But promises grow weaker with the fading space so tonight...
