Sailor Mouth

This sailor mouth of mine has lost all tact;
proving you right that I'm unwhole again
It threw you to the tide
and helped destroy the thing I always swore that I would die for to defend
Oh oh oh oh oh
I guess I fell to my old faults again

There's a fire in the distance of a thousand burning bridges caving in
A book of matches in my pocket and an ocean in my lungs
from trying to cross the waves I forced myself to swim
oh oh oh oh oh
I'm not surprised that no one believes that I am truly working hard to mend

Nothing is getting easier now that every gasping breath helps me to drown
I feel like I'm wrapped up in this tired and endless web of lost hope in forgiveness
Tied and tethered, weighted and bound by all that brought me to right now
