On Seas Built For Drowning

There's something honest about drowning that makes me feel alive
Near shipwrecked shores, in churning waves, I've learned to see the light
Let the ocean hold me under until I'm absent of life and finally free

Let no problems ever haunt me, let no troubles plague my mind
As I lay upon the coral floor devoid of date or time
All restlessness escapes me - for this moment I'm alive, though barely breathing
Each step closer to death gives each step in life that much greater meaning

I crawl out from this drowning den to flood my lungs with air
And discover all the poetry in growing trees and finely crafted chairs
I watch colored bottles next to lightbulbs and floating cash and flairs creating art
Each step closer to meaningless makes all meaning less obscured within the heart
