If I Die An Old Man

If I die and old man and I'm found by my bedside
Will you place coins on my eyes and lay me to rest?
Will I march on your shoulders up the streets through a downpour
Until we all reach the soft shore where my heart felt its best?

If I die an old man, will you write a song for me?
Something honest and open like I always wrote
Will you say I'm a man who will always be remembered
While my ashes and embers away all will float?

If I die and old man, will you be broken hearted
and lock yourself in a room with no doors and no windows?
Will you sit in the corner until your own life departed
Filling out invitations to your funeral, my sweet widow?
