I was scared of you once
I'll gladly admit it
but the harder I clung to you the more I felt comforted
it bothers me now that I never told you this
but I guess I assumed that you knew
Though the words ne'er came out

I hope that you're fine, wherever fortune may find you
know you still cross my mind and I still sleep alone
but If the only place I'm seen is when looking behind you
may I never again grace your thoughts
keep your eyes where you're going

if this open heart of mine is lying

All these city streets declare your name
and your ghost walks down the pavement
