Suffer No Weight

I reckon no tempest, nor hailstorm, nor fire
could e're quench my beating, free, heart's one desire
to rise from the valley where the bones of men lay
and be freed from my worry; unbound from my chains

When the righteous are wakened on their beckoning day
for to be called from torment and the burdens they claim
Come sons and come daughters for your trials to lay
and remember no darkness and suffer no weight

For I reckon the hardships of this present time
Aren't of worth to compare with the glory we'll find
When the skies have torn open and the dark yields to light
And the slaves are unburdened and the wicked made right
